Welcome to Kala Sakshi Memorial Trust

The Kala Sakshi Memorial Trust (KSMT) has been established to support and create opportunities for exceptional Indian art students through a program of scholarships in visual art.

The Trust has been created by Kavita Nayar, an eminent artist, and Pawan Nayar to commemorate the memory of their daughter, Sakshi Nayar, a multi-talented, dynamic young achiever who touched many hearts in her short but queen-sized life.

Sakshi Nayar (1985-2008) was passionately engaged with art in all its forms including painting, music, theatre, electronic media, and fashion. She brought into her art a child-like freshness & a unique perspective. Above all, she believed in creative freedom for exploration & expression through art.

KSMT aims to take forward Sakshi’s passion for the arts.
As an ongoing initiative, KSMT announces Five Scholarships awarded annually to final year undergraduate and previous and final year post-graduate art students, pursuing a course in any stream of visual art, with a demonstrable passion for creativity and integrity, values that Sakshi believed in.

All donations to Kala Sakshi Memorial Trust are eligible for tax exemption under section 80G (50)(VI)of the Income Tax Act, 1961. KSMT will issue a receipt to the donor for claiming the tax deduction
